Traditional Stairs from a deck

These hardwood stairs led from a deck which was about 1.8m above ground to the yard.  The treads are housed in the stringers, nailed in place and the stringers are held tightly together through the use of threaded rod.  Stained or oiled hardwood looks magnificent.

Old Concrete Stairs Renovated with reconstituted stone treads

Despite trying numerous things these old concrete stairs simply looked plain ugly.  Handy Work sourced reconstituted stone treads similar to what was used on the adjoining stairs and laid riser tiles to complete the renovated look, along with other renovation work on-site.

Sleeper Steps under a deck

The deck had a concrete pool built into one side and the pool equipment was placed on the ground under the deck but the owner had no easy way to get to the pool equipment.  Handy Work hand excavated alongside the deck and concreted in footings for stairs made from treated pine sleepers.

Gravel Filled Sleeper Stairs

The side path was treacherous to navigate and was full of weeds and broken rock.  Handy Work built the sleeper steps to retain the gravel then barrowed the gravel into position.
